SYLLABUS

I. DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE

This course is an in-depth study of the 39 books of the Old Testament, including considerations of inspiration, canonicity, authenticity, authority, content, and themes of each book. The majority of the time will be spent in the text. Doctrinal issues and textual problems will be addressed.

II. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. The student will know the library of the 39 Old Testament books so that he or she instantly knows where to find what they need in Old Testament Scripture.
  2. The student will be able to master the overall context of each book of the Old Testament so that it becomes alive within them and they can share it with others.

V. TEACHING METHODS

  1. Lectures are accompanied by lecture notes, charts, and quizzes. Quizzes and exams are designed to show you how well you have mastered the material.
  2. The school is designed for students to study at their own pace. Classes are set up in a 13-week semester format. Most students complete one lesson a week. However, some do more, even taking two courses together. The goal is not about time or grades, but learning the word of God for personal growth and sharing with others.
